A 3D-designed collection and a vision into the future of fashion ––

I remember the first time I saw ‘Toy Story.’ It was in 1995, and the 3D animation sparked wonder in my young imagination. I remember for Christmas the next year, my mom managed to find a ‘sold-out-everywhere’ Nintendo 64 for my brother and me –– we were enthralled playing in those 3D worlds. To me that was high-tech, futuristic, and near magic.

In late 2018, my design partner and I were introduced to the CLO 3D team in New York. In early 2019, we began designing in 3D and an additional breakthrough came in meeting with one of our clients, who is a motion graphics designer. We worked with him on a concept and story, and he was able to use one of the 3D-designed garments to create the short film above. The 3D-generated film brought everything full circle, and I’m still blown away by the power of this type of medium.
